Per Ordinance No. 2017-13 (Article XII, Section 26-301 through 26-305) you are required to get a permit for a yard sale in the City of Oxford. A permit may be obtained by contacting Oxford 311. You may reach them by dialing (256) 241-4311. You will be given an ID number which is your permit number. There is no cost for a yard sale permit. Signs are not allowed to be placed on the right-of-way of any street, on stop signs or on utility poles. Please see the map below.
To request a permit, please call the Oxford City Helpline — dial 3-1-1 or 256-241-4311. Calls are answered weekdays 8:00am to 4:30pm.
When requesting your permit, please state the date(s) and location of the yard sale.
You may hold one yard sale every 30 days, not to exceed six (6) per year.
