Hiring Process:
- Contact the recruiter, who will provide information about the application requirements. Complete the application and provide the necessary documentation.
- Upon submitting all required documentation to the City of Oxford Civil Service Board, the applicant will then take part in a PT test. Their requirements for the PT test are 22 push-ups in 60 seconds, 25 sit-ups in 60 seconds, and a 1.5-mile run in 15 minutes and 28 seconds.
- After completing and passing the PT test, the police department administration will review the application to continue with the hiring process.
Benefits:
- All non-certified, sworn officers will start out at $22.37/hr
- All pre-certified, sworn officers will start out at $23.50/hr (negotiable)

Applicants for the police officer position must:
- Be a United States citizen
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Be 19 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Not have been convicted of any felony, or any misdemeanor which precludes you from possessing a firearm
- Must complete the ACT WorkKeys Assessment (this excludes applicants with a four-year degree or higher)
