Barry Building
- Constructed in 1874 by Robert and William Moseley, prominent figures in both the pharmaceutical and publishing industries and founders of The Rising Star newspaper in Oxford in 1872.
- Originally housed a drugstore in the heart of historic downtown Oxford.
- Later purchased by Ohio native Thomas H. Barry, who served as a captain in the Confederate States Army.
- Barry moved to Oxford in 1872, where he became a key figure in local industry and finance. He co-founded the Barry & Draper Manufacturing Company and served as president of the Oxford Building & Loan Association.
- Under Barry’s ownership, the building evolved into a center for commerce, housing general merchandise, dry goods, and groceries — most notably operating as W. W. Robertson’s Cash Store.
- In 1903, the building was modernized with the installation of electricity.
- In 2013, Charlotte Young Hubbard restored the Barry Building, breathing new life into its historic walls by opening Hubbard’s Off Main, a restaurant and event space that continues to serve the Oxford community today.
