TUTOR TOTS OPENS EXPANDED LOCATION

Elementary-age children in the area now have a larger place where they can receive professional tutorial services in Oxford, Alabama.

Tutor Tots opened its new location at 316 Snow Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony sponsored by the city of Oxford. The service aids students ages pre-kindergarten through 6th grade with both academic and social skills.

A smaller facility was originally opened in June, but owner Whitney O’Kelley said increased interest in the service caused a search for a larger location.

“We put it out there, and it just blew up,” O’Kelley said. “We came to this new location not knowing if we could fill it, but we now have 12 teachers and 100 students. It’s grown very quickly. I think we’ll be here for a while.”

“We are so proud of you, and this is great for our city,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “I do a lot of grand openings, but suddenly, we are doing more businesses who are expanding. It is the fantastic work you and your staff do for people that matters and that’s what makes Oxford great.”
