OHS JACKET MEDIA STUDENTS THANK MAYOR, COUNCIL FOR SKILLS USA AID

Instructors and student officers of the Oxford High School Jacket Media Program visited the City Council meeting on April 8, 2025, to thank Mayor Alton Craft and members of the City Council for their financial assistance, which will allow the 23 students enrolled in the program to attend the Alabama Skills USA Conference/Competition to be held in Mobile on April 21-23. The event is sponsored by the State Department of Education. It allows students to learn from professionals in the media field as well as compete against other high school media departments from around the state. The assistance from the City Council comes as the students prepare to produce a major television broadcast documentary about the Rubato International Piano Competition and the city of Oxford.
