House Counseling cuts ribbon on new Choccolocco Street location

House Counseling has opened the doors of its new Oxford location at 231 Choccolocco Street.

The official ribbon cutting, hosted by Historic Main Street Oxford, was held Friday, May 30, 2025.

House Counseling provides individual and family counseling services to treat a variety of issues and disorders, including, but not limited to: PTSD, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, stress management, and ADHD/ADD. House Counseling also provides assessments, APOSTC new hire evaluations, EMDR, play therapy, and consultations.

Owner Anjuli Thompson said she never expected the growth her service has experienced.

“I started in Jacksonville,” Thompson said. “I came here to Oxford, liked the community, and it slowly worked out and started to grow. House Counseling has grown because we are a really good team and we all do different things. We will be in Oxford forever.”

“We are so pleased you are staying in Oxford,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “The growth that you are having is a testament to the success you are having helping people. That’s the business we should all be in.”

“What you do makes our community stronger,” said state Sen. Keith Kelley. “Helping each other is what God puts us here for.”

House Counseling is now accepting new patients and is open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. They may be contacted by phone at 256-342-6107, or on the website at house-counseling.com.
