Below Zero Creamery bringing unique treats to Oxford

Below Zero Creamery will soon open its new downtown Oxford location at 614 Hale Street, Suite D, with its unique style of ice cream treats.

Historic Main Street Oxford hosted a pre-opening ribbon cutting on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

A proud woman veteran-owned small business, Below Zero was originally started as a food truck by Brittney Ammons and her mother, Devette Arnold. Their signature rolled ice cream is spread on a very cold metal pan and rolled into cylindrical shapes using a spatula. The shop will also offer other treats such as soft-serve ice cream, milkshakes, and lemonade.

“We started in a tiny food truck for 18 months,” Ammons said. “We then went to a building where we were successful, but we always wanted to be in Oxford. So, we’re here!”

“We are so happy to have you here and your investment in Oxford,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “We have really missed having an ice cream shop in the downtown area. My staff and I are ready to work with you and help in any way we can. I’m sure you will be a success.”

Ammons said Below Zero will begin welcoming customers on Tuesday, June 10, beginning at 1 p.m. for their “soft opening.” They will be making announcements regarding their business hours on their Facebook page.
