Oxford Police Investigator Jaclyn Willis honored by American Legion

The American Legion Post 111 of Oxford presented its Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award to Oxford Police Investigator Jaclyn Willis.

The presentation was made during the regular city council meeting held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

“Each year we look at the community and see people who we feel do outstanding work for our community,” said Post Judge Advocate Preston Hale.

The award reads it is presented to Willis “for your outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication through the performance of your duties, which reflect your professionalism and excellent service to the community of Oxford, Alabama, as an investigator with the Oxford Police Department.

Willis received a standing ovation as she accepted the plaque from Hale, which was signed by Post Commander and current Oxford Police Deputy Chief Daniel Phipps.
